NSO Chamber Group – “Concert of Visuals”

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

The NSO's "Concert of Visuals" combines live chamber music with simultaneously projected multimedia. Musicians perform Prokofiev’s quirky ballet-inspired Quintet in G minor op. 39 for Oboe, Clarinet, Violin, Viola and Double Bass; as well as an arrangement of Brahms’s most well-known and stunningly beautiful piano works (arranged by NSO bassist Alex Jacobsen).

The visual component includes choreography from the original production of Prokofiev’s ballet, “Trapeze,” and images of Alex Jacobsen’s handwritten score. Following the performance, NSO musicians will facilitate a discussion to elicit thoughts and questions about the audience experience, and explain how this interdisciplinary project came about.

The concert features NSO musicians Jamie Roberts (oboe), Kristin Bowers (clarinet), Jae-Yeon Kim (violin), Eric Dewardt (viola), Alex Jacobsen (double bass), and visuals from artist Thomas Baker.
