The Kennedy Center’s Youth Council is pleased to present the Teen Takeover workshops. These sessions, curated by and/or led by current Youth Council members and alum, are interactive and engaging for teens and adults! Multi-generational audiences are welcome! (Most enjoyed by guests 13 years and up)
This high-fun, low-stress workshop is designed to show you how improvisers create spontaneous, off-the-cuff theater. Participants will play a variety of games that build skills for improvising scenes together. The exercises focus on core elements of improv like physical movement, emotions, and making up your lines in character. All of these skills are taught using the guiding principle of "Yes And..", which encourages improvisers to accept and build on their scene partner's ideas.
