The REACH Opening Festival at the Kennedy Center

The Jamaican soundclash is a competition between DJ crews. Numerous sets are performed by each crew, ending in a final "dub fi dub" round that utilizes "dubplates" (customized songs promoting the DJ crew and sometimes challenging the opposition.) The Kennedy Center is proudly presenting a multi-cultural clash featuring a reggae/dancehall crew versus a Latin DJ crew. Each crew will have a featured vocal performer representing them and there's a strong emphasis on women participants, to balance out the traditionally male presence within the field.
