Take a journey through the History of Dance in D.C. in an interactive performance/lecture led by writer and narrator Lisa Traiger. She’ll be joined by local dance artists and companies including Rima Faber, The Washington Ballet, Dance Place, Knock on Wood Tap Studio, Dance Exchange, and Jones-Haywood Dance School (who will be performing a work by Bradye Lee) to demonstrate the city’s stories in tap, ballet, modern dance styles, and more—all leading up to choreographer Sarah Beth Oppenheim and her company Heart Stück Bernie leading the crowd through a “line dance” routine featuring movement inspired by local landmarks.
