TO SLEEP WITH ANGER is one of the greatest films of the pioneering African-American writer/director Charles Burnett, featuring an indelible performance by Danny Glover as a mysterious visitor from the South who shows up on the doorstep of some Los Angeles friends. The film is rooted in traditions of folklore and mysticism. In the enchanting, jazz-inflected short film WHEN IT RAINS, a musician works the neighborhood to help a friend pay rent. The screenings will be followed by a conversation with Burnett.
