Thea Hopkins is a member of the Aquinnah Wampanoag tribe of Martha's Vineyard. She received a major Fellowship from the Native Arts & Cultures Foundation in 2016. Peter, Paul & Mary recorded her song, "Jesus Is On The Wire," in 2004 and again in 2010 with the Prague Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Hopkins has been described as a "standout writer" by the Washington Post. Her new CD, "Love Come Down" was released in September 2018 and was nominated for a 2019 Indigenous Music Award.
