2018-2019 Kennedy Center Citizen Artist Rulan Tangen is Founding Artistic Director/Choreographer of Dancing Earth. After years of teaching dance workshops to reservation youth, she also supports aspiring performers, theater artists and technicians, art educators and leaders to express their culture in contemporary and experimental forms. Ms. Tangen will present two invitation-only workshops during Indigenous People’s Day that will focus on the ways in which indigenous practices, creativity and movement can help emerging leaders work toward community building.
