DJ Beauty and the Beatz

Born Sierra Roundtree, DJ Beauty and the Beatz' turntable prowess has never disappointed her audience. Her style ranges from Hip Hop to Pop to Top 40's to various EDM genres, Reggae, R&B, and World Music. DJ Beauty and the Beatz was born in Las Vegas and moved to the Nation's Capital when she was eight years old. She was exposed to music by her father long before she could even crawl. Riding in the car with him running errands, she realized her own love for beats and lyrics. By six, she began recognizing samples used by different artists and shouting “air” suggestions to the radio DJ to play certain songs together based on their similarities. She was introduced to the idea of becoming DJ herself by her mother. At six years old, unable to read past a first grade level, getting through a “How to DJ” book was a challenge. This obstacle lead her start watching YouTube videos. Although she was young she was determined and ready. She convinced her parents to buy her DJ equipment. By eight years old, she was spinning at schools, Las Vegas Boys and Girls clubs, and local Vegas teen gatherings.
Realizing that she was different, her parents sacrificed it all and moved to Washington DC, where they felt she had a better chance of standing out amongst other kid entertainers. She's grown a lot since then. Her style and sound have helped her to receive national recognition and as a result she's been featured in several periodicals, including The Washington Post, Scholastic Magazine, Hype Magazine, Rolling Out, Refinery 29, and CEO Kid. Scholastic Magazine named her one of the “8 Coolest Kids We Met in 2014”. She's appeared on national news networks including, CNN, ABC and Fox and has been acknowledged by former President and former First Lady, Barack and Michelle Obama. DJ Beauty and the Beatz was invited to the White House and performed for the Obamas during the annual White House “Easter Egg Roll (2014)”. She also performed for the former First Lady's traditional visit to Children's National Hospital in 2015.

Now recognized as a celebrity Deejay, she's performed for or alongside many greats like Will Smith, Jamie Foxx, Meagan Good, Big Sean, Doug E Fresh, and Academy Award and Best Actress nominee, Quvenzhane’ Wallis of "Beast of the Southern Wild", just to name a few. Her journey has allowed her to add to her client list companies like Sony, Target, Colgate, Toyota, The Source Magazine, B.E.T, VH1's Save The Music, ESSENCE Music Festival, Verizon, US Women's Soccer, The Hilton, Macy's, The Washington Wizards, Smithsonian, and so many more.

Her energy and talent has even provided opportunities to feature in commercials and television. In 2017, she gained the recognition of MTV and was asked to feature in the return of My Super Sweet 16. You can watch her televised sixteenth birthday celebration episode on HULU and Teen Nick. She featured in commercials as herself with Smithsonian, Lufthansa Airlines, and Abercrombie & Fitch.

Recognizing her ability to influence fans, she aspires to inspire young girls, teens, and women everywhere to live their dreams out loud. She lives by her favorite quote by actor, Steve Martin “Be So Good They Cant Ignore You"
